About Lisa Cohn

Award-winning writer and author Lisa Cohn writes about energy and environment, parenting and immigrants (for The Immigrant Story). Her work has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor, Huffington Post, Mothering, Yahoo! Parenting, Brain, Child: The Magazine For Thinking Mothers,  Horizon Air, Mother Earth News, Dogster and other publications.  As an energy writer, she’s a co-founder of Microgrid Knowledge, a news site that focuses on distributed energy resources. She recently contributed to a National Geographic discussion about the effects of fossil fuels.

Lisa and her brother, Patrick Cohn, are co-founders of The Ultimate Sports Parent, a program that aims to instill confidence in young athletes.

Lisa and her 14-year-old, Michael, are co-authors of the “Bash and Lucy” children’s book and audiobook series, which received two Mom’s Choice Silver awards. They were featured on the Today Show for Michael’s love of books and YouTube book reviews. They’ve also been featured on AM Northwest, Portland Today, and in Disney’s Babble and other media. She has also received awards from the Pacific Northwest Writers’ Assoc., Willamette Writers, Parenting Publications of America and other organizations.
